Eucharistic Adoration is simple act of sitting in prayer before Christ present in the Blessed Sacrament. A holy hour in front of the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament "is a proof of gratitude and a pledge of love and a display of the adoration that is owed to Christ the Lord who is present there" (Pope Paul VI, Mysterium Fidei 67).
Every time we present ourselves in front of the Lord in the Eucharist we deepen our communion with Christ. In this presence with Christ we are allowing him to transform us into the truest version of ourselves.
How to spend a holy hour:
Sacred Scripture

"in order 'to do'... we must first learn 'to be', that is, to stay with you [Christ], in your sweet company, in adoration. Authentic, effective and true apostolic action can only come from intimate communion with you" - Pope John Paul II
