St. Benedict the Moor is a Christ-centered, Spirit-filled Roman Catholic parish located on Freedom Corner in the Hill District of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. The church was founded in 1889 to serve African-American Catholics. While continuing to serve African American Catholics, it has evolved into a more diverse, multinational and international church where all are welcome.  

St. Benedict the Moor Catholic church is dedicated to participating in the spiritual growth of our community through prayer, devotion to the Scriptures and the Sacraments. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we are committed to spreading the Good News of salvation through evangelization, education, advocacy, service and outreach.
